Ferrari’s upcoming LaFerrari successor is ditching its V12 heart. And tradition be damned.
The Maranello outfit is readying its next hypercar, codenamed F250, for an October 17 debut at the Finali Mondiali event. What’s under the hood will shock purists and thrill tech-heads in equal measure.
The V6 Revolution
Ferrari’s flagship hypercars have always packed screaming V12s. Until now.
The F250 breaks that lineage with a race-derived 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 – the same architecture that powers their 296 GTB and motorsport machines. This isn’t downsizing for efficiency’s sake. It’s warfare.
This V6 comes paired with a tri-motor hybrid system generating a combined 1,200 horsepower – possibly ranging up to 1,300 hp in final form. Two electric motors drive the front wheels while a third couples to the dual-clutch transmission, creating an all-wheel-drive monster.

Racetrack DNA
The F250’s design borrows heavily from Ferrari’s Le Mans-winning 499P race car, featuring:
- Flat nose with active aerodynamic flaps
- Massive active rear wing with possible DRS function
- Vertically-opening doors for dramatic entrances
- Sculpted bodywork with aero passages
Carbon brake discs peek through the wheels, while the entire package sits impossibly low to the ground. It looks fast standing still.
Inside The Beast
The cockpit remains under wraps, but expect a driver-focused environment with:
