Rolls-Royce has finally decided that electric can mean evil.
The new Spectre Black Badge cranks the already imposing electric coupe to 11, delivering 659 horsepower and a pavement-warping 793 lb-ft of torque. That makes it the most powerful Rolls-Royce ever built.
Subtlety was never the point.
Darker, Faster, Meaner
The Black Badge treatment transforms Rolls’ first EV into something properly sinister. Blacked-out trim replaces chrome, while the illuminated Pantheon grille now glows with customizable colors behind darkened vanes.
Those massive 23-inch wheels feature a new five-spoke design that looks ready to slice through peasants and paparazzi alike.
Under the skin, engineers have tightened everything. Suspension damping is firmer. Steering effort increases. Body roll decreases. Yet somehow, the “Magic Carpet Ride” remains intact—just with a sharper edge.
The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain now rockets this 6,559-pound leviathan from 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds—three-tenths quicker than the standard Spectre.
Push-Button Brutality
Rolls-Royce has added two performance modes that seem distinctly un-Rolls-like:
- “Infinity Mode” unleashes full power with a steering wheel button press
- “Spirited Mode” activates launch control for maximum acceleration
Both feel like concessions to owners who want occasional savagery from their otherwise dignified transport.
The increased performance comes with a slight range penalty. Expect 266 miles per charge, down 11 miles from the standard Spectre. A small price for the power bump.
Bespoke Darkness
Inside, carbon fiber replaces traditional wood veneers. The starlight headliner remains, now joined by an illuminated fascia featuring over 5,500 tiny stars embedded in the dashboard.
The new SPIRIT infotainment system offers customizable instrument themes, because apparently even digital gauges need bespoke treatment when you’re spending over half a million dollars.
Speaking of which, pricing starts at $557,200—a cool $67,000 premium over the base Spectre.
That buys you exclusivity and the satisfaction of knowing your electric Rolls-Royce isn’t just environmentally conscious. It’s environmentally menacing.
The Black Badge Spectre proves that sustainability and excess aren’t mutually exclusive. They’re just extremely expensive when combined.
