Ferrari's next Roma isn't reinventing the wheel. It's polishing it.
The "Roma M" will break cover on July 1, 2025, carrying forward the elegant GT formula that made the original a standout in Maranello's lineup.
Evolution, Not Revolution
Ferrari's playing it conservative with the Roma's successor. The silhouette stays familiar while headlamps, taillights, and wheels receive the requisite refresh treatment.
Inside, expect updated tech without abandoning the driver-focused cockpit that made the Roma feel special when you dropped into its leather seats.
Under that sculpted hood? The same 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 that's been Ferrari's bread and butter. Current Roma owners enjoy 620 horsepower, but the M variant likely squeezes a few more Italian ponies from the same displacement.
Two Flavors of Roma
Unlike earlier reports suggesting a Spider-only future, the Roma M arrives in both fixed-roof and open-air configurations.
The coupe continues despite production of the original Roma coupe reportedly ending last year. Ferrari clearly sees value in maintaining both body styles.
Piece of a Larger Puzzle
The Roma M represents just one move in Ferrari's aggressive product strategy. The Prancing Horse plans six new models for 2025 alone, including:
- Their first-ever electric vehicle
- Refreshed versions of the 296 and SF90
- The Roma M in both body styles
Performance Expectations
The current Roma hits 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 199 mph. The M variant won't dramatically alter these figures but might shave a tenth or two off the sprint time.
Weight will tell the real story. If Ferrari manages to trim mass while adding technology, the Roma M could deliver sharper responses than its predecessor.
Ferrari's betting that subtle refinement, not radical reinvention, keeps the Roma formula fresh. For a GT that already strikes an impressive balance between daily comfort and track capability, that might be exactly the right approach.
